Aqua-Bowls
Dear Aunt Daisy, . Can you please tell me if is added to the water for an aqua-bow] to keep the flowers fresh for a longer period than just two or three days? I understood that they lasted for a number of weeks, but mine have to be changed after a few days as the water gets cloudy and the flowers wilt. |

One owner of an aqua-bow! has told me that the reason may be that the bowl was not absolutely full-but had a small air space at the top. She had the same difficulty with cloudiness, and felt that. was the reason. Another woman has sent in the following warning: "The aqua-bowls are very nice to look at, but they may become a fire menace. They become a magnifying glass when filled with water and placed in the sun. I ruined my lovely polished table once. Next time I put. the bowl where I thought the sun would not reach, but,
much to my regret, it did reach, burnt through a new brushed wool jumper, and made a hole in the top of my glory box. On both occasions I was only minutes in discovering it or else maybe I would have lost part of my home. If a child slept near, maybe also a life would be lost. I hope you can warn
people of this danger."
