A few years later he learned to play the guitar. nen he was 21 he decided to see Australia and worked as a home painter, fence repairer and jackeroo. While on his travels he started composing and has written songs and short stories. 3ZB features at 5.30 Billy Starlight’s first release of two of his compositions, * * * Raymond Newell, baritone, is noted for his versatile and varied artistry. He was born in South Africa, but received most of his musical training in England. He toured with many of the Promenade Concert Parties, and later played with distinction with thé D’Oyly Carte Opera Company. He has p'ayed leading roles in Grand Opera end achieved success in drama. 4ZB will present recordings by Raymond Newell at 4.30. * ba ok A talented German pianist, Peter Kreuder, will be the artist featured in 2ZA’s "At the Keyboard," at 5 o'clock, ~~~
