They have been high up on the popularity parade consistently during the last few years and the reason is obvious as we listen to their distinctive work from 2ZB at 9.0 a.m. today. +: * ES Orchestras have their periods of pros- | Mantovant, the English orchestral leader, at the age of 18 conducted the Salon Orchestra at the Metropole Hotel, London, and broadcast from there for six years. He left the Metropole to form his own band at the Monseigneur Restaurant, Piccadilly, and his Tipica Orchestra, named because whatever the nationality of the ‘music played, it always sounded typical of the country of its origin, came into being.
