Trade names appearing in Commercial Division programmes are published by arrangement. , It was in a haphazard way, through bad writing, that a solicitor’s clerk, Frank Chacksfield, became a conductor. He had to arrange overnight the music for the first broadcast of the Army ver- * sion of "Mediterranean Merry-Go-Round.’ He wrote the music out so hurriedly that the conductor couldn’t read the score, so Chacksfield was roped in to conduct. He has heen conducting ever since. At six o'clock this evening 3ZB will play some recordings by Frank Chacksfield and his Orchestra.
