Country Digest (Ivan Tabor) Horatio Hornblower 8.46 8. 0 9.30 Vocal Duettists 9.46 Sports Preview (Norman Allen) py They Walk by Night 30 Close down Robert Merrill is one of the young operatic singers from the New York Metropolitan who has made a successful entry into films. His fine baritone lends itself to lighter songs and some of these will be included in the recordings to be heard from 2ZB at 5.45. * * *% Rudolph Friml, a Bohemian pianist, and one of the most prolific living composers, studied at the Prague Conservatorium. He toured Europe and the United States in 1900 as accompanist for the violinist Jan Kubelik. After his second tour with Kubelik in 1906, he remained in the United States, becoming a distinguished piano virtuoso. He composed many successful light operas including "‘Rose Marie," "Firefly," and ‘Vagabond King" to mention only a few. Some of Rudolph Friml’s compositions will be heard from 4ZB at 4.30. * * * The nimble fingers of pianoaccordionist Toralf Tollefsen will go into action at 10.45 this morning from 2ZA when that station presents a selection of. recordings by this artist.
