D. Thackwell (Christchurch ).-See page 7. Your other requests have been passed on to "Swarf." Puzzled (Trentham).-Would prefer you to express your opinions in the usual way, and more briefly. H.K.J. (Porirua).-It has no _ connection with broadcasting or Listener topics, and would be more suitable for a daily newspaper. A, Wilkinson (Christchurch ).-Possibly you did not hear any of the numerous references to "My husband and I."’ And dignity "verging on shyness" does not cease & be ‘dignity. M. B. Powell (Christchurch) .- following extract from Scholes’s Concise Oxford Dictionary of Music may help to explain the confusion: "In the 20th Century.the title (‘Trumpet Voluntary’) became familiar to the British public as that of a piece arranged (for orchestra and also for piano) by Sir Henry Wood, working from a 19th Century piano score whose . title-page attributed it to Purcell. . . Later it was pointed out that the attribution of origin should be to Purcell’s contemporary, Jeremiah Clarke, in whose Choice Lessons for the Harpsichord or Spinett it appears as ‘The Prince of Denmark’s March.’ "
