World of Flight
A IRWAYS AND AIRCRAFT is the title of. a new series of talks to be heard from YA and YZ stations. In these talks Bertram Cornthwaite will give a commentary on the latest developments in the world of aviation, and the first’ broadcast, at 9.15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9; will include information about the new model Comet, a new ‘jet trainer in Britain, the work of checking that is dqne after aircraft accidents, and flight refuelling of | jets: Mr, Cornthwaite is ai Associate |of the Royal Aeronautical Society and | Chairman of the Wellington Branch of_ the. Society. After serving with the |R.A.F. during the war as an aircrew | member, he was transferred to the posi- | tion of manager in charge of repairing -ereshed aircraft at Prestwick, and later | at Renfrew. He was engaged on research | work for some time for the Air Minis- | eye and worked on accident: investigation for British European Airways and | British South American . Airways. The talks will be heard on the second Tues- | day of each month.
