H ILDEGARDE, _ the international cabaret star whose recorded items are often heard in NZBS programmes, is
said to possess genuine Parisian chic and to wear clothes that are the envy of every woman; but the Parisian chic
1s acquired and not innate, for Hildegarde is really Miss Sell from Milwaukee. She has been singing all over the world tor quite a few years now, always with the same triumphant results, and ner appeal shows no signs of slackening. Hildegarde believes that every woman should develop her latent talents-in her case playing the piano and singing, and she still spends two hours a day practising. She has a repertoire of more than 70 songs, and being a very slow student it takes her a long time to learn a new one properly. Sometimes she takes a month to do it; sometimes she can master one in a week. Hildegarde has masses of clothes for. every possible occasion, and an adequate supply of hats. Her more cultural spending is on pictures, Besides a Renoir, a Boudin and a Picasso, she has 40 Rowlandsons,
