Orakei Maoris on Stage
\V HEN a concert party of the Orakei Maoris appeared in the ZB show On Stage Tonight in March this year they scored an immediate hit with the radio audience, So many people wrote saying they had enjoyed the prégramme that the compére, Selwyn. Toogood, has decided to repeat the performance. It will be heard from all ZB stations at 8.0 p.m. on Saturday, September. 26. Listeners will hear as an introduction the traditional Maori welcome to the marae. This will be followed by hakas and by solo and choral singing, a notable performance being given of Walter Smith’s arrangements of the popular songs "Waiata Poi," "Maori Battalion" and "Po ata rau."
