A ball-by-ball commentary on play in the fifth Test, Australia vy. England, at Kennington Oval, will be broadcast by the four ZB Stations tonight, starting at 10.30 p.m., and continuing until 5.30 a.m. tomorrow.
The seventh child of a family of thirteen, Perry Como-.was born in a Pennsylvanian coal-mining town, where his working lift began in a barber shop. At the age of fifteen he was successfully working on his own and it was only the encouragement of friends that persuaded him that his future lay in singing. Success was delayed, but after an engagement with the Ted Weems’ Orchestra, he turned to his now flourishing career in radio.
