Journey to Dovedale
DOVEDALE, according to the guide books, is a farming locality in the Nelson Province, 11 miles north-west-ward from Wakefield; tobacco and hops are grown there; it has a population of 90; it was named from the number of native pigeons which were there in the
past. Jim Henderson breathes life into this formal description in two talks recorded for the NZBS about a journey to Dovedale Mr. Henderson : made his journey with a man_ who knows the district well and loves the land, and the talks are enlivened with
