Family Villainy
A NEW twist to the old theme of The Man They Could Not Hang appears in a new dramatic serial scheduled to start from 2ZA at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, Entitled The Renegade, the story contains an episode in which the hero is actually brought to the gallows for a murder he did not commit, and yet lives to tell the tale. The setting for the story is late 17th Century London. Two brothers, Peter and Felix, inherit the House of March, one of London’s old merchant and im-
porting businesses. Felix does everything. possible to get rid of Peter, even to the extent of framing him for murder, but Peter is not so easily disposed of. There is tragedy and drama and excitement, together with sufficient love interest to give the serial some romantic appeal. The part of Felix, the villainous brother, is played by Keith Hudson, while Peter is played by Keith Eden and the heroine Ruth Globe by Beverly Dunn. The story is written by Ru Pallan and produced in Australia by = Pym. The Renegade will play from 2ZA each Monday and Wednesday at 10.0: p.m. It is also being heard from 3XC Timaru at 9.15 a.m. from Mondays to Fridays.
