Not every opera star has the opportunity of building himself a reputation in popular music, but Ezio Pinza achieved such a distinction with his portrayal of the middle-aged French planter in the Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway success, "South Pacific." In addition to a magnificent voice, the famous basso brought to musical comedy a fine sense of the dramatic and a flair for stagecraft developed by many years of operatic experience. This artist is — the Evening Star from 1ZB at 6.45 this evening. * ¥ u The courage shown by Jane Froman after her aircraft accident has won her much admiration. The film made of her life was a tribute by the film industry, and now the entertainment world may applaud her, as she is appearing in cabaret. She is able to stand supported by a steel brace, but her voice has not suffered and, in fact, critics have found a new depth to it. Jane Froman is the featured artist from 2ZB at 3.45. % % % At half-past ten this morning, Station 2ZA presents their first broadcast of the serial "‘Barbara Dale."
