Foundations of Happiness
"HERE has been too much talk about happiness when we are ‘dead Canon Bryan Green suggests in the first of four talks, Foundations of Happy Living, which are to be heard on the YA-YZ link at 9.15 p.m. on the first four Thursdays of July. The talks were specially recorded in England for New Zealand listeners. Canon Green, who is Rector of Birmingham, says in’ this first talk on "Personal Values’? (to be heard on July 2) that in the importance it attached to respect of personality Christianity gave persons a new meaning andia new place. Jesus had never tried to sweep people off their feet. That is important, he says, and no Christian can be a revolutionary of the violent kindhe musn’t compel or domineer but must persuade. In the Christian view people are not only free but unique, and every single invididual is of equal worth in the eyes of God. In his other three talks Canon Green will discuss happiness in marriage, family life, and faith. Canon Green was in New Zealand about 18 months ago, and will be back here this month for a stay of several weeks,
