(CRICKET followers electing to listen ~ on shortwave to the England-Aus-tralia Tests can receive ball-by-ball commentaries from Radio Australia. The Australian Broadcasting Commission is heaming a powerful transmitter to New Zealand from 8.30 p.m. New Zealand time until 5.30 a.m. It broadcasts on 9580 kilocycles (31-metre band). Commentaries are being handled by the Australian Bernard Kerr, the BBC commentators John Arlott, E. W. Swanton, and Arthur Gilligan, and the former Australian wicketkeeper Bert Oldfield. Géod réception can also be expected from the ABC’s powerful broadcast-band trarismitters. Around the World Norway: Radio Norway’s New North American and Pacific service is received

at good strength on 7210 kcs, (41-metre band) from 4.0 to 5.0 p.m. Other frequencies used are 11735 kcs. (25-metre band), 9610 kcs (3l-metre band) and 6130 kes. (49-metre band). English is used throughout. On Mondays the session is extended to 5.20 p.m. to present the feature, "Norway This Week." Belgium: ORU Brussels provides a strong signal in its new Pacific service to 3.0 pm. on 9114 kes. (32-metre band). Most European stations broadcasting to this area are re-timing their programmes to the afternoon, as reception in the evenings is poor at this time of the year. New Guinea: VLT6 Port Moresby has changed frequency to 6130 kes. (49metre band). The frequency, used throughout the station’s schedule, is received best with news at 9.0 p.m.
