About 20 minutes moderate oven. Serve with butter. Or 1 cup sifted flour, Y2 teaspoon salt, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1 cup bran, 1 cup milk, 2 tablespoons shortening, %4 cup sugar, 1 egg, beaten. Sift first 3 ingredients. Add bran to milk in medium bowl and set aside to soak for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, cream shortening first, then add sugar and cream together until light. Add beaten egg and stir till smooth, Stir this into bran mixture. Now add sifted flour, salt and baking powder, stirring only until just

mixed. Fill well-greased patty or mutfin pans two-thirds full. Bake in moderate oven of 400 degrees (regulo 6) about 25 minutes or until done, Should make ‘about 13. ‘A’ few ° taisins’ or chopped walnuts may be added to the flour mixture.
