Pipe Band Programmes

\V HEN the Dominion Pipe Band Championships were held in Napier earlier this year the NZBS made a number of recordings from which two 20-minute programmes are now to be presented from all National stations. In the first of these the A grade test selection «will be heard played by the City of Wellington Band, which won this section, and by the Dunedin Highland Pipe Band, which was second, and was also A grade champion band. This programme will be heard from 1XN at 9.35 p.m. and 2XN at 10.0 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, and from 1XH at 10.30 a.m. and 3XC at 7.38 p.m. on Sunday, June 7. The second programme, in which the two top bands in the B grade selection (Dannevirke and District, first and B grade champions, and Hastings Scots, second) will be heard, will be broadcast from these stations the following week. The programmes will start from other stations in the weeks beginning: June 15, YA stations; June 29, YZ stations: ’ July 13, 2XG, 2XP and 2XKA.
