Few people will remember the Phil Harris of such early screen musicals as "Melody Cruise,"’ but in those days the now famous conductor was one of the first disciples of the art of crooning. Since forming his band and acquiring a Southern accent to match its Dixieland flavour, Harris has duplicated his fame in another and, in his case, more rewarding field-record-ing. Some of his music will be presented by 1ZB today at 4.15 p.m. a x te Dancing and yet "divided" is how Antonio and Rosario, famous Spanish dancers, prefer it until such time as their dual contract runs out, Partners for 22 years, the couple last year had . a serious quarrel-result, not a word has passed between them for more than six months, When the silent partnership is concluded the two will appear on different stages with different companions, Their castanets rattling, Rosario and Antonio will be heard from ‘ZB tonight at 10.15. me ae % From professional soldier to professional songwriter one would think is poles apart, but not so with Cole Porter, who, after writing the musical score for "America First," a show which flopped, was so dejected he joined the Foreign Legion in Morocco. Today his hits like ‘‘Begin the Beguine" and "What Is This Thing Called Love" are perennial favourites. Station 4ZB will present "From the Pen of Cole Porter" this afternoon at 4 o'clock. ee
