Early Mozart Opera

\V HEN Mozart was only 19 he wrote an opera in honour of the visit to the Salzburg Court of the Archduke Maximilian, the youngest son of the Empress Maria Theresa. Last year a concert version’ of this work, I] Ré Pastore, was broadcast in the BBC Third Programme as one of four special concerts which each contained a _ lesserknown Mozart opera.
