Light Music from VOA
OVERS of good popular music, from musical comedy and motion-picture music to folk tunes and dance rhythms, will be interested in a new Voice of America show, Music by Antonini, starting soon from commercial stations. The programmes are performed by a light concert orchestra under Alfredo Antonini, conductor for the Columbia Broadcasting System, which broadcasts the series domestically in the United States. At various periods of his broadcasting career Antonini has been classed as a folk music expert, a Latin-American musician, a master of light opera and a fine conductor of light modern music. In the new VOA series he will bring listeners a well-balanced blend of these abilities, There is no jazz. Music by Antonini consists of 14 quarter-hour programmes. It begins from the four ZB stations and 2ZA at 7.0 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, and will my weekly at the same time. :
