they hear how the electron microscope ‘ls being used in. bacteriological research; and are taken to the field station where radio astronomy, the newest science to be developed at the laboratory, is providing information on activity in outer space, The Cavendish Laboratory has a ‘close connection with radio, for it was Maxwell, the foundation director, who first worked out
mathematically a comprehensive theory of radio waves. Scientific Kesearch is being heard this week irom 4xC (at 6.1 p.m. on April 22), and from 4YA (at 2.0 p.m. on April 26). It will be broadcast later from other National stations.
