COVER DESIGNS
Sir,-No wonder our ,children cannot draw. I have suffered long enough looking at some of the weird and wonderful drawings printed in their school journals. Now I have just seen one of the "gay cover designs" reproduced in tho March 6 issue of The Listener to be used for this year’s School Broadcasting booklets. What a gruesome muddle it is to behold! Surely in this fair country of ours there is somebody who can draw people, farm animals and. birds which will look ake people, farm animals and birds? I suppose it matters not either that in the wording beneath the "work of art" "New Zealand" has been printed without capital letters’ I know this is quite a fashionable trend in advertising, but I do think that school books should be printed correctly.
