Jazz Club, BBC
OW five years old, Humphrey Lyttelton’s Band of non-professional musicians has represented Great Britain at International Jazz Festivals in Europe, broadcast regularly in the BBC Light Programme, and. appeared on British Television and in films. About a year ago this band recorded for the BBC two halfhour programmes of jazz music which are now being broadcast from National stations of the NZBS. Among items listeners will hear are three Blues numbers, The Saratoga Swing, The Muskrat Ramble, and two numbers by Humphrey Lyttelton himself, The dancers taking part in these programmes are members of the Humphrey Lyttelton Fan Club, who were asked along to help create a real jazz club atmosphere. The first Jazz Club programme will be heard from 3YA at 9.30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, and the second from the same station during the following week.
