Without Icing Sugar
Dear Aunt Daisy, Here are some ideas for cake icings without icing sugar. Grate 1 cake dark chocolate and 1 tablespoonful desiccated coconut over a plain cake before baking. It makes a’delicious topping. Or over a plain cake grate an apple and then sprinkle over 1 tablespoon brown sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon mixed in it. Another idea is to spread a meringue thinly over a fruit cake and add finely chopped nuts; then brown in slow oven.
These are all good.
