Mankind by Types
ANKIND falls into certain categories distinguished by "drives," according to F. L. Combs, whose series of ten talks, Types of Personalities, will start at 2YC at 10.0 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20. Using various fictional characters as examples, Mr. Combs will seek to explain the motives of people classified as Constructive, Vainglorious, Playboy, Sadistic, Curious, Genius, Selfassertive, Positive, Maternal or Virile. Employing the psychological theories of great philosophers and instances of characters created by famous novelists, he will describe the attitudes and actions of a person typical of each of his divisions. These talks, read by Frederick Farley, are an attempt at a portrait gallery of the human race.
