Sir,-I read Gordon Mirams’s articles with much interest. They confirm a prior opinion that Television is another step toward the mechanisation of the human mind. Radio leaves the tistener’ the pfivilege of constructing the picture, which is an inescapable mental exercise, and a very pleasant one. This right is obvious in a play; it also invades music, invok- | ing mental visions of every conceivable | character, Even tin pen alley depicts | dustbins, brawls, drinks. and the maniacal. Radio can be a mate so long as it is within hearing of the garden, the washtub, the kitchen, the bath. T.V. demands -darkness and one’s immediate presenge. | I have "had" the corrupter before it!
