Campoli Recital

| MEMORIES of Alfredo Campoli’s | visit to New Zealand last year will be recalled by a recorded recital by the violinist which 4YZ will broadcast for half an hour starting at 9.30 p.m. on Thursday, December 20. He will play Partita in E, by Bach, and Three Cap--rices for Solo Violin from Opus 1, by ‘Paganini: No. 14 in E Flat (Fanfare); No. 9 in E (La Chasse); and No, 17 in E Flat. Campoli has been a public performer since childhood, and in junior amateur and professional competitions was requested to stop competing as he invariably won and "spoilt the spirit of competition." These recordings were made by the BBC during a Third Programme recital in December of last year. ‘
