Air Force Documentary
ROUNDSTAFF, a radio documentary feature telling of the work of the people behind the aircrews of the Royal New Zealand Air Force (and heard recently from the Commercial stations), will be repeated from the four YZ stations during February and March. ‘The programme, which has 14 characters, opens with a call from Raoul Island for an aircraft to bring in an engineer who has been badly burnt. A Catalina goes out, picks up the patient, a doctor administers a, blood transfusion during the flight, and the episode ends with the entry "Operation Successful" in the log. Then the maintenance wing takes over and the feature goes on to describe the many branches of work concerned with keeping aircraft airworthy and ready for a call at a moment’s notice. Listeners who missed hearing Groundstaff from the ZB stations will have a second chance if they tune in to 4YZ on Wednesday, February 8, at 7.0 p.m.; to BSYZ on Tuesday, February 21, at 7.390 p-m.; 2YZ on Thursday, March 2, at 5.57 p.m.; or 1YZ on Monday, March 20, at 7.30 p.m.
