New Blankets
Dear Aunt Daisy, I recently bought 2 pairs of white English woollen blankets, but it has been impossible to use them because of their objectionable smell. They have been well washed with soap-flakes and though there is a slight improvement, they are still unpleasant. I wondered if. other readers had had this experience | and would be most grateful for any
advice.

Yes, there often is this unpleasant smell with new blankets-though not always. Try soaking them in cold water with a handfal of salt, or a little less baking soda.
