RADFORD AND WAYNE AGAIN
[ROM time to time a kindly providence arranges a happy combination for the delight of man. Duck and green peas make one such, lamb and mint sauce another, and, turning from’ the edible to the audible, there are Naunton | Wayne and Basil Radford. A film pro-’; ‘ducer first brought*them together in a picture that turned out a smashing suc-cess-The Lady Vanishes. A series of radio comedy thrillers carried on the partnership of that inimitable pair of sport-loving, slow-thinking types, and the latest, Having a2 Wonderful Crime, starts from 2YD this Friday, December 2, at 9.20 pm. This time Naunton Wayne plays Hamilton Hargraves, and Basil Radford plays Digby Hunter, two friends whose visit the Irish village of Ballygoolish for a fishing holiday. In the true Wayne-Radford tradition they neglect to arrange for somewhere to stay and have to rent a furnished house. The cellar of the house is the scene of certain nefarious goings-on, and with that setting listeners Can expect the development of a plot where it is difficult to disentangle the thrills from the laughs. The script is by Max Kester and the production by Vernon Harris. "
