This Plant manufactures SAFETY to protect you and your family If you Or your wife or family use bus transport, then what goes on in the plant, shown above, means @ lot to you In that plant are made the strongest, safest, all-steel buses that run on New Zealand roads today The next time you ride in a bus look for the trade- mark "New Zealand Motor Bodies Ltd: and if it's there , relax and enjoy your ride knowing you are in the strongest, safest bus you can travel in: The three assembly plants of New Zealand Motor Bodies Limited , the one above at Petone (Wellington) together with their Auckland and Christchurch plants, employ around 300 men, involving at least 12 different skilled trades and turning out around 200 buses O yeara Taking a trip through the above 80,000 square foot plant at Petone, you would see giant cutters, benders and pressers making the individual steel frame pieces: you would see huge jigs upon which are made the sides, the top and ends of the frame; every part welded to- gether into one tremendously strong unit Then, on the assembly production line you would see these steel frames built on to the chassis of each bus -the metal panelling pop-riveted into position the interior fittings being installed and finally, out of the paint shop comes bus after bus beautifully finished in Dulux: Each bus takes 5 to 6 weeks to build and complete , but with a dozen on the assembly line at one time, 0 new all-steel bus rolls off about every third day. So, when you ride in a bus, look for that New Zea- land Motor Bodies Ltd; trademark and if it'$ there, relax and enjoy your ride, knowing that you are in the most comfortable, safest bus you can travel in.
