ZBs' New Morning Serial

OURTSHIP and Marriage is the title of a new serial which will succeed Marriage Register at the four ZB Stations shortly. Housewives who can arrange to have morning tea on Fridays at 10.45 a.m. will hear all about Terence O’Keefe, his English wife, Evangeline, and the romances and eventual marriages of their six daughters. The story goes that when O’Keefe loses his job through the bankruptcy of his employers, he puts the case to the girlseither they must think about getting themselves jobs, or husbands. With one exception the idea of becoming a married woman appeals to the sextet. Charmaine wants to marry money; Judy ‘seeks a home and lots of children; Bella wants all the gaiety and success she can get out of life; Patsy, the romantic of the family, looks for a Prince Charming; Gladys doesn’t have to worry for a while for she is still at school; and Moya, the exception, is a career-girl, hating men. Listeners will be able to follow the lives of the girls, the problems attendant on their falling in love, becoming engaged, and their weddings -all forming part of an interesting tale of family life. Courtship and Marriage will start at 1ZB on September 9, 2ZB on September 23, 3ZB on October 7, and 4ZB on October 21.
