The famed Casa Loma Orchestra, one of the longest established dance bands in the American musical scene, will be heard in a fifteen-minute programme from 1ZB this afternoon, commencing at 3.45 p.m, Xavier Cugat rocketed to fame as leader of one of the first popular American Orchestras to specialise in South American rhythms. He will be heard from 2ZA at 6.30 to-night together with honey-voiced. vocalist Dinah Shore. Incidentally, Dinah holds a B.A. degree from an American University and was auditioned and rejected by Jimmy Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey, and Benny Goodman, before she finally got her charice.
