Ihe SHELL NEWS COLUMN British engineers are laying 150 miles of 6 inch Pipeline through jungle to enable liquid fuels to be delivered from the East African Coast (Tanga- nyika) to the Southern area of the Government Ground Nuts Scheme: The pipeline; which will cost around Lsoo,000, is expected t0 be ready for operation this year: It will run from Mtwara; near Mikindani, and will carry an annual volume of 180,000 tons of Petrol and oil to the inland depot: The fuel will feed mechanical plant used for site clearance F bull- dozers,tractors and transport vehicles ~as well as theagricultural machinery employed on cultivation.
