OPERA BROADCASTS

Sir,-I feel sure that I would be voicing the gratitude of many listeners by saying how much I appreciated the thoroughly interesting commentary given by the announcer during the recent series of opera broadcasts relayed from His Majesty's Theatre, Auckland, by Station 1YA. Being keenly interested in these performances, but unable to attend any of them, my disappointment was fully dispelled by being able to picture the performances through this announcer’s warmly personal and thorough description of the artists, stage settings, orchestra and audience. I have heard this same delighted appreciation expressed by many | acquaintances here,

JAMES

BROWN

(Rotorua).
