OW being heard from 1ZB each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8.45 p.m., is an exciting tale of the turf called Silks and Saddles. It is the story of young Joe Brandon, an 18-year-old lad who has racing in his blood and ‘whose only possible way of life is in ‘the world of silks and saddles. Leaving his home on the banks of the Murray River, Joe seeks his fortune in Sydney, where his love for horses leads him to the racetracks and to adventure. * * % ACH Monday at 10.0 p.m. 1ZB offers listeners a chance to test their knowledge of famous singers’ voices in a session Whose Voice? The genéral idea behind these programmes, in which unidentified recordings by well-known performers are broadcast, is to encourage families to hold competitions amongst themselves in naming the artists. * rf * HE adventures of a modern Don Juan is the story behind the 1ZB comedy feature Don John, which is being heard at 7.45 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The young man has ideas of becoming a fashionable playboy, but his high sense of adventure often leads him into trouble. He flirts with beautiful secret service agents, evades irate husbands, rescues damsels in distress, and on occasions provides the police with ‘a little amateur assistance. * * | * NEW George Edwards production called The Woman in Black is now being heard fromm 1ZB at 10.15 a.m. on week days. It is an exciting story set in contemporary London.
