Tenor from Rotorua

Y this time Auckland listeners will have already heard the tenor Geoffrey Moore, in a broadcast from 1YA on Sunday, February 27. They will hear him again, this week, at 8.0 p.m. on Wednesday (March 2), and at 9.30 p.m. on Friday (March 4). These are the first broadcasts of a six weeks’ tour of the main National stations, and the first singing he has done in his own country since he recently completed his studies in Australia. Geoffrey Moore is a returned serviceman from Rotorua who went to study at the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music two years ago under a rehabilitation scholarship. In recent months Geoffrey Moore has recorded extracts from musical comedies such as The Desert Song, and has broadcast in ABC Light Programmes. He sang for three months at the Prince Edward Theatre in Sydney, and made a tour of ‘New South Wales_as a-soloist-for the

ABC. Last December he appeared in Gustave Charpentier’s opera Louise, in the role of Julien. Next week listeners will hear him in three recitals from 2YA.
