NATIONAL FILM UNIT
heated ged by the N.Z. National Film Unit for release on August 6, Weekly Review No. 361 is a full-reel documentary, entitled "RNZAF in Fiji," showing the day-to-day work of the Air Force in the Islands. Airsea rescue and ambulance services are an important part of that work, and the film shows how these humanitarian tasks are carried out. Coral reefs in that area of the Pacific are often traps both for shipping and planes and the Air Force is in constant readiness to give assistance. Sv well organised is the air-sea rescue service that a Catalina flying-boat can be airborne within eight minutes of a distresssignal being received. The ambulance service ensures that the sick or injured from outlying islands are brought to the hospital in Suva with the least possible delay.
