Perspiration Stains
Dear Aunt Daisy, I wonder if you could help me. I have a new frock of light material--a smoky blue shade. The very first time of wearing, it got perspiration stains under the arms. I had sewn under-arm pads on, but these came adrift. ‘I sponged the stains with warm water. but this has left
water-marks also.

I'm afraid your frock will never be * quite right again. Try sponging the stains with pure methylated spirits and warm soapy water; equal parts; have . @ thick pad of towel underneath, and sponge thoroughly; then dry in the open air. Or sponge with dilute acetic acid (from the chemist)-about a dessertspoonful to a pint of water. Sometimes eucalyptus will remove perspiration marks. Dab with cotton wool dipped in the eucalyptus-do not rub and spread the stain. Take fresh clean pieces _of cotton wool as each gets soiled. The water-marks are hard to remove from many of the new materials. Try pressing over a wet cloth after the. material is dry.
