DUNEDIN'S FIREWORKS.
Sir,-I read with interest a letter from "Opoho" (Dunedin) abdut the fireworks display, but I read with greater interest and pleasure the leading article on the same subject. I can remember seeing the Peace celebrations after the First World War, and what a joy that
was to me as a child; but how much more brilliant would this recent display be! Isn’t it grand to fill the minds and hearts of our young people with some such beauty to mark such a wonderful occasion end. also obliterate for young and old the tragedy the war years brought? I am certain Dunédin has ‘never been lacking in support of any worthy cause and many times has topped the list. Has there ever been such a city of flowers, God’s gifts put to such artistic use, in the show and cavalcade of progress? Carry on, Dunedin, you are doing a great work, and might even have something for the "Challence of
