WHEN SALVATION ARMY BEGAN
eir,-Iin The Listener of January 9, I notice a photo with the following description note: "Here Major Chandler, of the Salvation Army, is being interviewed at the spot where the Army began its work in New Zealand on April 1, 1886." As a matter of fact the Salvation Army was well established in the chief centres of New Zealand at least two years, possibly nearer three years, earlier than the above date.
