Sir,-"Argosy" suggests that some of the characters in the above serial have never existed. If he rejects John the Baptist then he must reject Christ, for Christ said, "Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist." Also for Isaiah: "In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which said, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see and not perceive." .
Likewise for Elijah: Christ, speaking to John the Baptist, said, "And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was far to come,". If "Argosy" doubts the miracles of Elijah, he should remember that "with God nothing shall be impossible"
