Butter Substitute

Half-a-pound of vegetable fat; 3 heaped tablespoons full cream milk powder; 2 breakfast cup milk; Yq teaspoon common salt; a few drops of colouring (yellow). Melt vegetable fat in saucepan. Mix ‘up full cream milk powder, salt and fresh milk into a smooth paste. Pour in vegetable fat when cool and beat with egg-beater for 3 minutes. Add colouring to suit and beat again. Leave to set.
