MARK HAMBOURG

Sir,-On the evening of Sunday, February 16, I was listening to an item from Station 2YD dealing with Mark Hambourg, the eminent pianist. The commentator, in the course of his remarks, stated that Hambourg had visited New Zealand twice, his first visit being in 1903, his second in 1931. May I offer a correction?. During the year 1908 I attended recitals given by Mark Hambourg in Christchurch, so actually he paid three visits to this country, the second taking place jn the year I have just mentioned, If Memory serves me correctly, I was only a small boy at the time. Hambourg’s 1908 tour was under the direction of Messrs. J. & N.
