Well-made New Zealand
‘| HE Great Days in Sport series which has been running from 1ZB some little while now is written and produced by the "Commercial Division of the National Broadcasting Service." I think that is how the tag runs. It indicates anyway that these are home-grown goods, entirely produced within the Service. One appreciates the modesty of the Commercial Service in the advertisement of its own wares. It is much to be preferred to the wholesale credits of Hollywood and to the surprising number which even the BBC indulges in during some of its transcriptions. But work of the quality of Great Days in Sportit is one of the best series the ZB’s have given us-has a personality both of writing and of production, It is obviously not a tin pan alley synthesis. That these personalities work in the cloistered confines of the Service itself should not always be a reason for the cloak of anonymity.
