Apples and Dumplings
Have ready a quantity of stewed apples boiling in a _ saucepan, sweetened and fairly wet. Mix up a dumpling batter with 1 cup flour, a pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon of bak- * ing powder and *4 cup milk. Drop this by tablespoons into the boiling apples, put on lid and boil for 20 minutes without lifting the lid.
