New Zealand Military Forces BRITISH COMMONWEALTH OCCUPATION FORCE FOR JAPAN Volunteers for New Zealand Brigade Volunteers are required for service overseas with the New Zealand Brigade forming part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force in Japan: CONDITIONS OF SERVICE TERM OF ENLISTMENT : Volunteers will be accepted on the basis of service for a period of 18 months, or prior discharge: (NOTE_It will be the aim to limit total service to a period of 12 months, with a minimum 0f 6 months service in Japan, but this will depend upon shipping facilities.) (2) By filling in a registration form obtainable at all Post Offices and Railway Stations: Forms when completed should be posted to the nearest Recruiting Office. (3) Men at present serving in the Army should apply in the first instance through their unit commanders.
