Sir,-I would suggest that your footnote to "Careful Listener’s" letter in the issue of May 25 would have lost nothing had the first six words been omitted. There has been a regrettable tendency in many of your footnotes to display an arrogance and lack of good manners which are quite foreign to the traditions of good journalism and are the result, probably, of an overlong association with the members of the New Zealand Labour Partv.
