From Pencarrow in 1859, there are to-day fifty-one lights around the coast of New Zealand for the guidance of Sthose who g0 down to the sea in ships or who have business upon the waters: 99 Just Io years after the brilliant beam of Pencarrow light first flashed out into Cook Strait; the Government Life Insurance Department wa8 established.
