The Repertory Society and Cathedral Choir collaborated to make an unusual success of a task full of temptations to the lush and oversoulful, through which it passed almost untouched. The music was allowed to carry most of the weight, and it is striking, but true, that one can hear the carol sung four or five’ times in 20 minutes without objecting.
